The ARANC Hamradio Repeater FK8ZHA-R located in Mont Do

Built in 1992, and responding to a real need, the Mont Do Repeater FK8ZHA-R, belonging to the Association des Radio Amateurs en Nouvelle Caledonie (ARANC) has enabled users to significantly reduce the distance between the north, the east coast and south part of New Caledonia. This effort was born of the desire of the association members, which did not hesitate or skimped on the means, In order to ensure a successful installation of this repeater to provide a must in radio communication to all hamradio that the territory counts.

FK8ZHA-R VHF / 2m FM Repeater
Located in Mont Do site at 120km fm Noumea city, altitude 1010m
TX: 146 200 Mhz
RX: 146 800 Mhz
Antenna is 2x2el beam vertically polarized, beamed north/south of New Caledonia, average output power 30 watts.

In November 2007, extensive building of the shelter will be made based on availability of members and the weather conditions.

Mont Do VHF 2m Repeater, once completed will be linked with Semaphore FK8ZHB-R VHF 2m Repeater situated on a hill overlooking Noumea city and which will very soon, get a few small changes.

A third relay, still under study could begin soon in a location, yet to be determined, but it seems that the site of Koumac would be most appropriate for its implementation.

Here are the technical characteristics of the Mont Do Repeater:

Two Transceiver which are: 1- Yaesu FT-2800M, 2- Yaesu FT-1500M delivering an average power of 30 watts
4 Antennas TX / RX, 2 elements beam, vertically polarized.
The TX / RX is powered by Astron stabilized P.S 220v/13, 8v.
The maximum range is 110km radius, outside of great VHF conditions, annually observed between October and December.
