TX1B - CQWWCW Contest 2009
November, 28th and 29th 2009, the famous CQWWCW contest which had gathered this year, a very large number of big guns, and the very best operators in the world. So I participated once more time under the special callsign TX1B for the duration of the competition.
My equipment was a Yaesu FT-857 transceiver and my Homebrew 3bander Spiderbeam antenna at 10m above the ground. My category is not well represented because the low power (80watts) lost its shine. Despite this remark, good propagation conditions make this contest version very interesting.
In 30 hours of operationg time, i have contacted 1017 stations (dupes having been previously removed) with 92 countries worldwide and 34 of 40 WAZ area.
However, one thing is the QSO's have been very difficult to get as the power used (1kw it seems for some stations, and more ..!) splashed merrily frequency bands. Despite the 300Hz CW filter, the DSP and DBF, all triggered simultaneously, I can proudly make sure I've made this year a good performance which will be renewed and, i believe, improved. So i hope to meet you soon for the next CQWWCW contest.
